The Army Diving Centre based at Bovington Dorset, is now well and truly up and running. Cliff Pearn has now assumed the role of Chief Instructor.

Cyprus Joint Service Adventurous Training Centre - Scuba Diving Courses are available FREE to all serving personnel regardless of location

Priority will be given to island personnel, however they are mostly run undersubscribed at 50% loading. To apply follow these simple instructions:


1. Click on the link http://www.ahrc.co.uk/

2. Under JS COURSES MENU (LHS) Click "Book a Course by centre"

3. Select CJSATC from the Drop Down Menu

4. Select the course you would like to do from the drop down menu and click "CONTINUE" (this will then give you a list of the courses and dates)

5.Select required course, and fill in the booking form

6.Dont forget to get provisional approval from your Line Manager. Click Submit. SIMPLES!


On course confirmation, RAF Trooping Flights are then booked through your Unit Movements Clerk. Flights leave RAF Brize Norton on a saturday and leave Akrotiri on a Sunday. This causes no more disruption to your place of work than attending a course in the UK.

BSAC SPORTS MIXED GAS COURSE Date: 9 - 13 January 2012.

Entry requirement:

BSAC Sports Diver with depth qualification to 35 metres and 60 logged dives. Also must be a BSAC Advanced Nitrox Diver or BSAC Accelerated Decompression Procedures Diver (or equivalent). Twinset experience is ideal. Available to all service personnel regardless of where you are serving. Apply at www.ahrc.co.uk or e-mail Sgt (SI) Southern-Naylor for more details.


ADVANCED DIVER COURSE Date: 6 - 17 February 2012.

JSSADC needs You!

JSSADC are constantly looking for sport divers and above to act as rescue divers during the Ocean Diver Courses.  The Courses listed below will require Rescue Divers to dive from Tue - Fri which will include 1 pool dive and 5 Open Water Dives.  As said they only need to be Sport diver qualified and will be classed as on duty whilst at Bovisand.  Accommodation will be arranged but transport will be at own unit expense. Volunteers must be in possession of a current Annex 8C medical.
