Guy Wallis, the former Chairman for over 7 years, was awarded the
prestigious Peter Ormerod Trophy in 2011 for his outstanding work in taking ASADA forward in many areas, including the
development of instructor training, the website, assistance to Battle Back for men and women wounded on operations or
otherwise injured, the Irish Army exchange and bringing cave diving into the realm of the ordinary diver.
He has been the leading figure in producing 2 ASADA Safety Journals per year and his contribution to the promotion of diving
in the Army has been truly remarkable. Due to a sudden posting and op tour, he stood down as Chairman, but even from his
current post in America he remains an active member of the ASADA committee.
The 2011 presentation was made by Doctor David Adey MBE, (former Surg Lt Cdr RN), recognising his continued work with
ASADA, not least seeing many members for their HSE dive medicals and is a font of advice on many matters to do with diving
