The Role and Responsibilities of the Projects and Publicity Officer

The Projects and Publicity Officer ASADA is responsible for ensuring that new initiatives are introduced to Army Diving as well as ensure ASADA and Army Diving is positively promoted.

His specific areas of responsibility include the following: -

  • Review Army diving expeditions, achievements and incidents for submission to BSAC Awards process.
  • Monitor Army diving events and co-ordinate press/media coverage.
  • Oversee the production of the ASADA Journal.
  • Oversee the production of the ASADA Web Site.
  • When detailed by the Chairman of the Executive Committee, visit ASADA Registered Clubs and carry out advisory visits.

He / she is to be a member of the ASADA Executive Committee and is to attend the AGM and all other ASADA Committee meetings. 

Andy's Profile
Andy is 40 years old and has been diving since 1984. He is a British Sub-Aqua Club (BSAC) First Class Diver, BSAC Advanced Instructor and Joint Services Sub-Aqua Diving Supervisor (SADS) with almost 1200 logged dives. A qualified Biology teacher; he has a degree in Zoology and has participated on 4 ‘Raleigh International’ expeditions as a diving instructor/marine biologist.

He has led three previous Joint Services expeditions to Bikini Atoll (Marshall Islands) and St Paul Island (Nova Scotia) – both of which won the BSAC Expedition of the Year Award and more recently EX JURASSIC SHARK (Cocos Island - Costa Rica). Andy is a Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society and currently works as the Chief Instructor ASLS at HQ ARTD, Upavon.
